About PixTools
PixTools is a small collection of practical image utilities for quick browser-based edits. The current tools convert image formats, extract text, upscale images, blur faces, resize images, and remove image backgrounds without requiring an account.
Browser-First Tools
The site is built around focused workflows that put the actual tool first. Important explanations, privacy notes, and help pages stay available as static HTML so users can understand what each tool does before they choose a file.
Current Utilities
The background remover is designed for quick cutouts, simple replacement backgrounds, and PNG exports for design, social, and product workflows. The image resizer changes image dimensions while keeping the original aspect ratio. The image converter handles local format changes and batch downloads. The image upscaler enlarges still images when a bigger copy is enough. The image to text tool runs local OCR for reusable text, and the face blur tool masks detected faces before sharing a still image.
Privacy Stance
PixTools favors local browser processing when that fits the tool. For background removal, selected images are processed in the browser for the cutout step. Resizing and the current Face Blur workflow also process selected images in your browser without uploading them to a PixTools server for the edit step. Converter, OCR, and upscaler workflows follow the same local-first approach where browser decoding and processing support it. You can read the full privacy policy for details on data handling.
Why We Built PixTools
PixTools started from a simple frustration: many common image edits, like dropping a background, resizing for the web, or pulling text out of a screenshot, push people toward heavy desktop software, sign-up walls, or sites that upload your photos to a server. PixTools is an independent project built to do those everyday tasks quickly in the browser, without accounts, and with the actual processing kept on your device wherever the technology allows.
How PixTools Is Funded
PixTools is free to use. To cover hosting and ongoing development, the site plans to show advertising, including through Google AdSense, in the future. Advertising is intended to stay out of the way of the tools, and any advertising or measurement technologies will be described in the privacy policy before they go live.
Maintenance And Support
PixTools aims to keep tools simple, useful, and low-friction, and is actively maintained. Bug reports, feature suggestions, and privacy questions can be sent through the contact page or by email to [email protected].
