Watermark images

JPG, PNG, WebP, or BMP. Source and logo stay in your browser.

Watermark settings

Font size as a percentage of the shorter image edge. Fixed system font.

PNG and WebP retain transparency.

Original image; no current watermark export.

Add a text label or logo to a photo

Place a name on a portfolio photo, add a shop logo to a product image, or mark a screenshot as a draft. Choose one source image, then enter a single line of text or select a logo image. Pick one of nine positions and adjust size and opacity. The preview shows the encoded result you will download.

Size, placement, and legibility

Text uses a fixed system font, with its size measured as a percentage of the shorter image edge. Logo width is a percentage of the source width and shrinks when needed to fit without stretching. Both final logo dimensions must be at least one pixel; increase the size or source dimensions if smaller. Edge margins use 3% of the shorter edge, rounded down to whole pixels. If text does not fit, shorten the label or lower the size. Choose a contrasting text color and check the final preview.

Formats and transparent logos

Both the source and logo accept JPG, PNG, WebP, or BMP. A transparent PNG logo lets the source show through around its shape. PNG and WebP outputs retain transparency; JPEG replaces transparent areas with white. JPEG and WebP use fixed high-quality encoding and can change pixel values and file size. Output keeps the source's decoded dimensions and browser-displayed orientation.

Local processing and limits

Source and logo are processed in your browser without uploading them to a PixTools server. Each file is limited to 25 MiB, 24 million decoded pixels, and 8192 pixels per side. This tool places one overlay on a still image. It does not batch-process, tile, rotate, or animate watermarks.

Reset and download

Download becomes available after the current preview is ready. Reset watermark keeps the source, clears text and logo, and restores default settings. Enter a new label or choose a new logo to export again. Clear image removes the source too. If export fails, try PNG or a smaller source image.

Prepare an image before adding a watermark

Crop the image to its final framing, then resize it before placing the label. Use Image Compressor if the watermarked download is too large, or visit PixTools help for other workflows.
