Favicon generator

Choose one JPG, PNG, WebP, or BMP. Your image stays in your browser.

Square icons keep the whole image, with transparent padding. For a tighter framing, use Image Cropper first.

16, 32, and 48 pixel previews appear here when the package is ready.

ZIP: favicon.ico, six PNGs (16, 32, 48, 180, 192, 512 px), and installation README. No manifest.

Create website icons from one image

Choose a logo or simple image and download a ZIP containing favicon.ico with 16, 32, and 48 pixel PNG-backed entries, separate PNG files at 16, 32, 48, 180, 192, and 512 pixels, and a README. Check the actual-size previews: a detailed photo or small lettering may be hard to recognize at 16 pixels.

Transparent padding and small sources

The whole source fits inside each square without stretching. Empty space remains transparent. Output dimensions are rounded to whole pixels, with a minimum one-pixel edge. A non-square logo therefore has padding. Start with Image Cropper if you want a tighter square. Sources smaller than an output size are enlarged and may appear soft; enlargement adds no detail.

Local processing and limits

JPG, PNG, WebP, and BMP files are processed in your browser without uploading to a PixTools server. The limit is 25 MiB, 24 million decoded pixels, and 8192 pixels per side. Reset clears the image and package. Choosing a replacement removes the previous download until the new package is ready.

What the package does not configure

The 192 and 512 pixel PNGs are optional assets for your existing web app manifest. No manifest is generated, and the images are not maskable icons. These assets alone do not make a site installable or guarantee compatibility with every browser or platform. Test them on your own site.

Install your favicon files

Extract the ZIP into your site's public root directory. Add these tags inside your HTML <head>, adjusting paths if you place the assets in another directory. The README contains the same snippet. Browser caching can delay an icon update.
